The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany and support Quang Tri province in organizing the Festival for Peace.

On March 7, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang received and worked with the Quang Tri Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its great attention and support to Quang Tri province in the implementation of foreign affairs. In 2023, with the close direction and support of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and units under the Ministry, Quang Tri province successfully organized activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated area of Southern Vietnam, creating a good impression, strengthening the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.

Quang Tri province also successfully coordinated to organize the "Meeting Thailand" Conference on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1976-2023) and the 10th anniversary of establishing the Vietnam - Thailand Strategic Partnership (2013-2023).

Mr. Hoang Nam also informed about the plan to host the Peace Festival with the theme "Joining hands to build a peaceful world" in 2024. Within the framework of the Festival, many meaningful activities will take place to honor the value of peace, spread Vietnam's message of peace, and at the same time promote and introduce to international friends the beauty of culture - art - tourism as well as the socio-economic potential of Quang Tri province.

With the recognition and high trust of Quang Tri province in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry participate in supporting the province in organizing work to ensure the success of this important activity.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the positive contributions of Quang Tri province in foreign affairs and the country's overall socio-economic development. At the same time, he highly appreciated the province's ideas and determination in organizing the Festival for Peace, especially with the very strong and timely message of aspiration for peace. With the spirit of service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always wishes to contribute and support the province to develop and achieve more success.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang pledged that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany, support and advise Quang Tri province to successfully organize the event.

The leaders of both sides emphasized that this event is of great significance not only to Quang Tri province but also a highlight in the country's overall foreign affairs. This is also an opportunity to express Vietnam's message of love for peace, in line with the principle of a solid peace in the world.

With that meaning, the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Quang Tri province agreed to continue to exchange and coordinate closely to deploy preparations, ensuring the successful organization of the first Peace Festival.
