Nam Dinh wishes to promote foreign economic development
At the meeting, comrade Tran Le Doai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared that, in the face of many difficulties and challenges in the world, domestically and locally, with solidarity, unanimity and efforts of the entire political system, Nam Dinh's socio-economic situation continued to achieve some important results.
The economy maintained a fairly good growth rate compared to the same period, with some indicators higher than the national average, of which the total GRDP in the first 6 months of 2023 increased by 8.5% (ranked 6th nationwide, 3rd in the Red River Delta), estimated to reach over 10% for the whole year of 2023.
In the first 7 months of the year, the industrial production index (IIP) increased by 13.5% over the same period. The total retail sales of goods and social consumer services increased by 13.8% over the same period; the total value of exported goods reached 1.44 billion USD, equal to 44% of the yearly plan, estimated to reach over 3 billion USD for the whole year.
Currently, the province is making efforts to develop the infrastructure system, especially the traffic system, including speeding up the construction of infrastructure for industrial parks and industrial clusters such as Rang Dong and My Thuan textile industrial parks; Yen Bang and Thanh Coi industrial clusters, etc. to attract investors.
By the end of July 2023, the province had 135 FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of 3.865 billion USD. In 2023, the province signed a project development agreement and granted an investment certificate to Quanta Group to invest in My Thuan Industrial Park with a total registered capital of 120 million USD to produce computers; Project to invest in the construction of a high-tech polymer film factory of Sunrise Material Group (Singapore) with a total investment of 100 million USD; Project to invest in a high-tech household appliances factory of JiaWei Group (Taiwan), with a total investment of about 100 million USD; signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP) on researching and proposing investment projects for industrial parks, urban areas, and services in the province,...

In the coming time, the province hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will strengthen connections and cooperation with embassies and foreign representative agencies in Vietnam; connect with localities in developed countries such as Japan, Korea, Australia, EU countries, etc. so that Nam Dinh province has the conditions to strengthen and comprehensively develop cooperative relations in trade and investment; increase exchanges in the fields of science, technology, education, training, culture, sports, tourism, etc.
The province also hopes that the Ministry will support in promoting the UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage "Practicing the Vietnamese Mother Goddess Worship" to international friends; Continue to strengthen support, guidance and training for staff working in foreign affairs, international economic integration and businesses in the province to effectively implement the international economic integration commitments that Vietnam has signed and participated in.
Support localities in assessing and giving opinions on the signing of international agreements with localities and foreign organizations; build a database of potential partners for cooperation in specific fields so that localities can deploy connections according to needs.

In the context that the province has not yet attracted many foreign investors, Provincial Party Secretary Pham Gia Tuc hopes to receive attention and assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating investment promotion and attracting potential partners to implement important projects in the province.
The Ministry also directed its affiliated units and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to help the province promote propaganda work, introduce the province's potential, advantages, projects and policies to encourage and attract investment at conferences and seminars organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at home and abroad.
