On the morning of April 6, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the People's Committee of An Thoi Ward organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Physical Education and Sports for Everyone and the Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People in 2024. The program had the participation of hundreds of officers and soldiers from agencies and units of Naval Region 5.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, the leader of the People's Committee of An Thoi ward called on all cadres, civil servants, youth union members, cadres and soldiers of the armed forces, students, workers and people of all walks of life in the area to actively respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build a career and defend the country", contributing to improving health and physical strength for studying, working, producing, building and defending the Fatherland.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and more than 1,000 athletes participated in the Olympic running day for public health with a distance of more than 3km.

Mr. Tran Van Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of An Thoi Ward said: The launching ceremony of the Month of physical exercise and sports for everyone and the Olympic running day for the health of all people are organized annually by the locality. This activity aims to promote and raise awareness in the community about the role, meaning and benefits of physical exercise and sports. Thereby, building a healthy lifestyle, creating the habit of exercising and playing sports every day to improve health and quality of life.
