From June 26 to July 12, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a working group to survey information to serve the development of the "Project on developing biological industry in the economic and technical sectors of Industry and Trade".

Implementing Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation; Resolution No. 189/NQ-CP dated November 16, 2023 of the Government promulgating the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation, in which the Ministry of Industry and Trade is assigned to preside over the development of the "Project on the development of biological industry in the economic and technical sector of Industry and Trade", to submit to the Prime Minister for approval in 2024.
To have full information to deploy the project, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a working group to work directly with each agency and enterprise on the implementation status and plans of the units in the coming time for the development of the biotechnology industry.
Through that, to promote the capacity of research and training facilities, the intelligence of scientists, the central role of enterprises in receiving and applying technology to production practices, taking advantage of opportunities, focusing investment resources on developing the biotechnology industry, innovating policy mechanisms, seeking international cooperation and support, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to invest in and produce products from biotechnology.
From there, promote and develop biotechnology of the Industry and Trade sector to become an important economic and technical sector, promote economic growth, serve social security, protect the environment, and contribute to the sustainable development of the country in the new situation according to Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
At the meeting, the parties will exchange and discuss directly on the contents related to biotechnology and bioindustry such as: Research and development orientation; the need to receive core technology, advanced technology in the country, in the region and in the world; propose limitations, recommendations in amending current mechanisms and policies for promoting the development of bioindustry in Vietnam.
At the same time, recommend and propose solutions to support scientists and businesses in technology transfer, technology reception, implementation of contents related to application and development of biotechnology in industrial, medium and small-scale enterprises in accordance with the actual situation in Vietnam and in the locality...
