The seawall at Phu Thuan beach was destroyed by waves. Rising sea water flooded into residential areas, forcing Phu Thuan commune authorities to urgently evacuate more than 12 households to safety.

Sandbags and temporary rocks to protect the coast before storm No. 6 makes landfall cannot prevent large waves from attacking and flooding inside.

Serious coastal erosion also occurred in Giang Hai and Vinh Hien communes (Phu Loc district, TT-Hue). Rising sea water has overflowed the embankment and poured into the protective forest and fields inside.

Through the actual inspection of coastal areas with serious erosion, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, noted that local authorities must regularly assign staff to closely monitor the development of erosion, promptly report to competent authorities for handling plans. At the same time, organize the review of vulnerable areas, proactively handle construction incidents from the beginning, in order to minimize the seawater intrusion into the interior.
