On November 8 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) donated funds to help people in Quang Binh and Thua Thien Hue provinces overcome the consequences of the recent storm No. 6.
Attending and receiving support from Petrovietnam were comrade Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province; comrade Nguyen Thi Suu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province; comrade Nguyen Minh Tam, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Binh province, and comrades of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh provinces.
On Petrovietnam's side, there were comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; comrade Le Ngoc Son, General Director of the Group; comrade Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group; comrades members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Members, the Board of Directors; representatives of PVEP and BSR leaders.
At the end of October, storm No. 6 (international name: TRAMI) made landfall, causing severe damage in the Central provinces. The storm and floods caused hundreds of houses to have their roofs blown off, many roads to be eroded, the coastline to be severely eroded, many trees and crops to be submerged, and many families to be evacuated from the flood waters... In this situation, in order to promptly share and support the people of the Central provinces to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods, including Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh provinces, Petrovietnam donated 2 billion VND to each province.
On behalf of the leadership, officers, employees and workers of the Oil and Gas industry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Le Manh Hung sent his regards and encouragement to the people and soldiers of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh provinces.
Comrade Le Manh Hung shared that after 63 years of construction and development, the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry has made remarkable and comprehensive progress in both scale and depth, completely synchronously from the stage of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, to the gas industry, petrochemical refining, electricity and renewable energy, high-quality oil and gas technical services. In which, Petrovietnam has successfully completed the tasks entrusted by the Party, State and people with the "5 words An": ensuring the country's energy security; ensuring economic security; ensuring food security; participating in protecting national security and sovereignty at sea and implementing social security.
In particular, social security work is identified by the Group as a key, continuous task alongside production and business tasks. Every year, Petrovietnam spends more than 750 billion VND on social security activities. Comrade Le Manh Hung hopes that the contributions of the leadership team, cadres and workers of the Oil and Gas sector will help the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Binh provinces to soon overcome difficulties, restore production and business, stabilize life and continue to develop.
On behalf of the authorities and people of the two localities, comrade Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province, thanked the timely attention, support and sharing of the Group and the Oil and Gas workers to help the people of the two provinces overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
On the occasion of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry preparing to celebrate the 63rd Anniversary of its Traditional Day, Comrade Le Truong Luu congratulated Petrovietnam on its achievements in recent years, becoming a leading economic group with an important role in the country's economy. In the coming time, Comrade Le Truong Luu believes that with the tradition, bravery, and culture built and nurtured over the past 6 decades, Petrovietnam will continue to develop sustainably, continuing to make many contributions to the country's socio-economic development.
