In 2023, the Border Guards of Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa provinces, and the Border Guard Squadron 18 thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the signed contract contents, promptly exchanged 87 information and reported situations and incidents related to foreign vessels, crimes of all kinds and related situations. The coordination of patrols and controls was closely implemented, through which the units organized patrols on shore and at sea with 587 officers and soldiers participating; promptly detected and handled 19 cases with 26 subjects related to illegal trading, transportation, and storage of drugs, explosives, smuggling, etc.; sanctioned 86 administrative violations with 88 subjects in the field of fisheries and other related fields with a fine of more than 470 million VND. In addition, the units have done a good job of coordinating the investigation, verification and handling of accidents and collisions at sea to ensure compliance with regulations and protect the rights of fishermen.
The units signed a regulation on coordination in implementing joint tasks in managing and protecting the border in the contiguous area in 2024.
In 2024, the units determined to continue to closely coordinate in exchanging information and relevant situations in managing and protecting national maritime borders, maintaining security and order in maritime border areas and seaport gates; combining border management and protection with coordination with local authorities and relevant forces to synchronously deploy measures to prevent and end the situation of Vietnamese fishing vessels illegally exploiting seafood, not reporting according to regulations (IUU). Directing affiliated units along the border to strengthen coordination in patrolling, controlling, fighting against all types of crimes, law violations, search and rescue, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and environmental incidents at sea and in border areas.
At the same time, proactively coordinate closely with relevant forces to protect local security. When detecting related incidents, promptly notify and coordinate to resolve them quickly and thoroughly.
The conference also discussed and pointed out the causes and shortcomings in coordination and cooperation work, at the same time proposed solutions to overcome them and continued to sign regulations on coordination in implementing coordination tasks in managing and protecting the border in the adjacent area in 2024.
