The opponent is too strong.
LPBank Ninh Binh Club faces a "harsh" match schedule in the 2024 Women's Club Volleyball World Cup. After the opening match against NEC Red Rockets Club (Japan) at 5:00 p.m. yesterday (losing 0-3), at 8:00 a.m. this morning (December 18), Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and her teammates had to compete in the next match of Group B against Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano Club (Italy).
Bich Tuyen played outstandingly for LPBank Ninh Binh Club but could not surprise the strong opponent.
In addition to not having enough time to recover, the difference in skill level when facing the reigning European champion team with a "superior" star cast such as Joanna Wołosz, Gabi Guimaraes, Zhu Ting, Isabelle Haak also made the Vietnamese women's volleyball representative feel inferior and helpless.
The top hitter of Vietnamese women's volleyball, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, is a notable highlight in the LPBank Ninh Binh team. Bich Tuyen's powerful and tricky shots are enough to threaten the defense of the Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano Club. The hitter from Vinh Long scored quite an impressive number of points, however, the LPBank Ninh Binh Club still accepted a 0-3 defeat (16/25, 8/25, 15/25). Being able to compete with the world's top clubs with "all-round offensive and defensive" abilities is an opportunity for Bich Tuyen and her teammates to learn.
With 3 consecutive losses, LPBank Ninh Binh Club is at the bottom of Group B, losing the chance to enter the semi-finals of the 2024 Women's Club Volleyball World Cup. At 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will play the final match of the group stage, facing Dentil Praia Club (Brazil).
The 2024 Women's Club Volleyball World Cup features 8 excellent clubs including Tianjin Club (China, host), Minas Tenis Club (Brazil, South American champion), Vero Volley Milano Club (Italy, European runner-up), Zamalek SC Club (Egypt, African champion) in Group A and Imoco Club (Italy, European champion), NEC Red Rockets Club (Japan, Asian champion), Dentil Praia (Brazil, South American runner-up), LPBank Ninh Binh Club (Vietnam, Asian runner-up). The teams compete in a round-robin, selecting the first and second-placed teams from each group to enter the semi-finals.
