Going directly to Nam Nhoong commune, Que Phong district - home to 2,572 people of the Kho Mu, Thai, Kinh ethnic groups and an area with many difficulties, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visited the people's lives and encouraged leaders, cadres, civil servants, and soldiers in the area.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee expressed his joy at seeing that the commune has made new developments, focusing on exploiting the strengths of the forest economy, expanding a number of livestock and poultry farming models; growing raw materials such as bo bo, wild dong leaves... "These are very good measures and need to be promoted in the coming time", emphasized comrade Thai Thanh Quy.

Despite positive changes, the rate of poor and near-poor households in the commune is still high, accounting for 57.14%; the average income is still low, only approximately 15 million VND/person/year. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that this poses a very high requirement and task for the Party Committee, Government and People of Nam Nhoong commune to make efforts and strive to improve, reduce the rate of poor households, and increase people's income.

He hoped that local people would continue to strive to improve, take care of production, especially promote strengths in livestock and crop farming to escape poverty; build a new culture, eliminate inappropriate customs; preserve cultural identity, build "village and neighborhood love", support and help each other to improve in life; actively implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and State.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the armed forces of the police and military of the district and commune to focus on grasping and forecasting the situation well to advise the Party Committee and the government to lead and direct in a timely manner, and control the situation; at the same time, launch a campaign to crack down on all types of crimes, especially resolutely not letting drug crimes return when the commune has become drug-free; at the same time, fight against crimes of human trafficking and illegal exploitation of natural resources...

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy emphasized that the Party Committee and the communal government must take care of socio-economic development, especially building factors and replicating models to sustainably and substantially reduce poverty; organizing revolutionary action movements, especially when the commune has only achieved 11/19 criteria, it is necessary to focus on building new rural areas, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The Party Committee and authorities of Que Phong district need to promote the strengths of the agricultural, forestry and industrial economy; expand the raw material areas and high-value specialty seedlings; develop eco-tourism and discovery tourism to both exploit potential and create conditions for people to participate in order to substantially reduce poverty.

At the same time, exploitation must be associated with the protection of natural resources, especially minerals and forests; and focus on building good friendly relations with localities of Laos that share a common border.

With that motto, so that everyone has the conditions to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation, on this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary presented Que Phong district with 1.4 billion VND to support the poor in the district to celebrate Tet; directly presented 100 gifts to the poor in Nam Nhoong commune, including 1 million VND in cash and gift bags of 200,000 VND/gift; at the same time presented 10 houses, each worth 50 million VND to 10 poor households in Nam Nhoong commune and Tri Le commune.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation visited Huoi Cam village to visit and wish a happy new year to the family of Mr. Lu Hai Duong, a Khmu ethnic group, a prestigious person.
