Doan Bai is developing day by day, that is the opinion of the people who have spent their whole lives in this rural area, most clearly seen in the system of facilities, roads, houses, medical stations, and spacious, clean schools.

To achieve this result, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Doan Bai commune have continued to direct and mobilize the participation of the entire political system and all classes of people. Up to now, Doan Bai commune has achieved 15/19 criteria of a model new-style rural commune.

Mr. Do Tuan Anh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Doan Bai Commune, said: To reach the model NTM finish line, Doan Bai Commune not only promotes local resources but also focuses on mobilizing people to join hands and join forces through practical actions. Specifically, the commune mobilizes people to build bright, green, clean, beautiful roads and apply science and technology to production development.

The view of the people here is that no matter how big the house is, if the road is narrow, cars cannot get in to buy agricultural products for the people, making it difficult for the economy to develop.

Therefore, right from the time the plan to expand the main road of the commune was announced, more than 40 households in Bai Thuong village voluntarily broke down fences and roofs to expand the road corridor, thanks to which the main road in the commune, over 2.5km long, was upgraded, the road surface was widened to 9m.

Mr. Dang Van Tuyet (Bai Thuong village) shared: We, the people, determine that roads are very important, not only helping economic development but also benefiting future generations. So wherever the construction unit goes, we, the people, voluntarily remove roofs, surrounding walls, etc. so as not to affect the construction progress.

Since that movement, up to now, 100% of the commune and inter-village roads and most of the village roads and alleys in Doan Bai commune have been concreted and paved with solid asphalt. The roads assigned to self-management groups and households are regularly cleaned, cleared and maintained clean.

Not only the transportation system has been invested and upgraded, but the infrastructure of the communal cultural house and 11 villages has also been renovated and newly built with full sound and light systems, regularly disseminating the policies and laws of the Party and the State to the people. The quality of life of Doan Bai people is increasingly improved, the cultural and artistic movement has been paid attention to and taken care of by the Party Committee, government and people.

According to Mr. Do Anh Tuan, in addition to continuing to maintain and further improve the criteria of advanced NTM, Doan Bai commune also focuses on building outstanding criteria in education such as physical training models for students; investing in expanding classroom equipment for the education system at all levels in the commune.

Focus on building outstanding criteria

Determining that investment in education is investment in future generations, improving the intellectual level of the people, this is the key criterion to create momentum for the commune to develop in the coming time. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, Doan Bai commune determined that the education sector is the outstanding field of the locality.

Currently, in Doan Bai commune, 3/5 schools have met national standards level 1 and 2/5 schools have met national standards level 2, which are kindergartens and junior high schools. In 2023, Doan Bai commune was evaluated by the district, scored as a good learning community, and trusted by the people to send their children.

In 2024, Doan Bai commune invested in building a mini soccer field for the secondary school with a total cost of more than 400 million VND. This is a physical education model for students to practice physical strength, skills...

Teacher Dinh Van Thach, Principal of Doan Bai Secondary School, said: In addition to imparting knowledge to the children, the school also focuses on physical education for students. The school has built a swimming pool, a mini soccer field and many other items. The quality of the school has been significantly improved, all the criteria set out have been completed and exceeded. In particular, the rate of excellent students and students passing the 10th grade entrance exam is very high, many students have won national, provincial and district level sports awards.

Along with the secondary school, the kindergarten system in the commune has also been invested in construction. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Commune People's Committee invested in building 6 classrooms and auxiliary items with a total cost of over 8 billion VND. Increasing the total number of learning groups to 23 groups of classes with 660 children with better living and learning conditions.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, Principal of Kindergarten No. 1 in Doan Trang Commune, shared that since receiving additional investment in facilities, teachers and students have had the opportunity to improve the quality of education. If the school ranked 15th last school year, this year it has risen to 9th place.

Along with the outstanding criteria of education, Doan Bai commune also deployed 2 more smart village models, An Hoa village and Giua village; built a production model applying smart agricultural management such as cloud computing drip irrigation technology, irrigation control, automatic spraying of pesticides... actively propagating and mobilizing people to change the structure of crops and livestock, planning, renovating mixed gardens and applying science and technology in production.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of An Hoa village shared: In 2024, our village continued to promote and improve the criteria in building new rural areas and propagate and mobilize the whole people to join hands to build and develop their homeland. Up to now, the whole village has achieved over 90% of the model new rural area targets.

"The movements to expand village roads and alleys; build flower roads, mural roads, etc. are being actively responded to by the people of Doan Bai commune. With the current exciting atmosphere, we believe that by the end of 2024, Doan Bai commune will successfully complete the task of reaching the model NTM finish line," Mr. Thanh affirmed.
