In the same room, patient Tran Thi Lang (Vinh Luong commune, Nha Trang city) has terminal lung cancer. “I have terminal illness so my body aches a lot, I mainly receive palliative care. Before coming here, I was treated at the provincial general hospital for nearly a year; because the Oncology Department was always overloaded, we often had to sleep on folding beds. Here, each room has 3 beds, is spacious, clean, and airy, so my mood is more comfortable, the pain and fatigue are also somewhat reduced.”
Specialist II Doctor Le Hong Quan - Director of the Provincial Oncology Hospital said that the hospital has been in operation since February 1. Initially, the hospital only accepted outpatient examinations. Currently, after basically ensuring all conditions, the hospital accepts inpatient treatment. During this period, emergency, severe, and surgical cancer patients will continue to be treated at the Provincial General Hospital; while stable inpatients will be transferred here. After stabilizing operations, the hospital will transfer all patients to inpatient treatment here. Because it has just come into operation, the hospital has received support from upper-level hospitals in diagnosis and treatment, including the Provincial General Hospital and the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital. After stabilization, the hospital will invite experts in Ho Chi Minh City to guide and train the hospital's medical staff in professional skills to further improve the quality of treatment.
