During the Lunar New Year holidays, the National Children's Hospital is ready with many measures and plans to ensure the safety of emergency patients, medical examination and treatment, and disease prevention for children before, during and after Tet. The hospital still receives examinations, emergency care and treatment for children as usual, while implementing proactive measures.
The hospital ensures 4 levels of on-call duty: leadership duty, hotline information handling; professional duty; administrative - logistics duty; security - self-defense duty; 24/7 duty to ensure timely handling of emergencies, accidents, epidemics, and food poisoning.
The units strictly implement the work of patient triage, increase the level of warning for infectious diseases (especially measles), check and monitor patients and their relatives coming for examination and treatment. On the other hand, the units increase remote examination and treatment consultation; ensure prevention of hospital infections, and prevent cross-infection.
The Emergency and Poison Control Department ensures 24/7 emergency care, ensuring human resources and equipment to promptly handle emergency cases at the hospital, in-hospital and out-of-hospital emergencies; at the same time, re-checking the necessary medicines, equipment and means to ensure the highest ability to treat victims in case of injury.
The hospital ensures adequate and timely provision and supply of medicines during the Tet holiday, is on duty 24/7, and ensures adequate provision of medical equipment, tools, and consumables to serve departments/rooms and patients.
Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital has proactively developed a plan to ensure medical work during Tet; arranged 4 permanent levels including: leadership; professional; administrative - logistics; security - self-defense.
Dr. Nguyen Khanh Long - Deputy Director of Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital said that the unit has assigned 24/24 hour duty schedules for leaders and staff during the Tet holidays. At the same time, the hospital requires the on-duty teams to absolutely not be subjective or negligent, and to organize forces and means to be on duty and promptly handle any arising situations. In particular, the hospital has plans for fire prevention, disaster prevention, and mass accidents.
In particular, for patients who are being treated at the hospital during Tet and cannot go home to celebrate Tet with their families, the hospital regularly organizes visits, gives gifts, encourages patients, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere like celebrating Tet at home. At the same time, the hospital organizes medical examination and treatment well, fully prepares medicine, arranges beds, vehicles, and necessary equipment to be ready for emergency treatment of patients.
The hospital also strengthens monitoring and early detection of epidemic cases for timely handling, preventing the spread of the epidemic; assigns mobile emergency teams to be on duty during Tet holidays, ready to participate in emergency care outside hospitals when required.
On the other hand, the hospital also does a good job of taking care of patients, improving medical ethics, attitude towards serving patients, and communicating and behaving kindly to help patients feel secure during treatment.
Ensure full on-call duty at 4 levels
At Xanh Pon General Hospital, medical staff have been assigned to be on duty to provide emergency care to patients and provide emergency support outside the hospital when required. In addition, the hospital has prepared enough medicine, blood, infusion fluids and necessary equipment and facilities for emergency care, medical examination and treatment, especially emergency care for traffic accidents and food poisoning. The hospital has also developed a plan to receive patients and respond to accidents, poisonings and mass emergencies that may occur during Tet.
In addition, the hospital also ensures cold prevention during medical examination and treatment, the waiting area and treatment rooms are airtight, have enough blankets, mattresses, and warm-keeping equipment; and visits patients being treated at the hospital during Tet, especially patients in difficult circumstances.
Deputy Director of Ba Vi District General Hospital Nguyen Ngoc Vinh said that the unit has developed a plan to examine, provide emergency care, and serve patients during Tet; provide emergency care at the hospital and participate in emergency care outside the hospital.
The hospital has prepared enough medicine, infusion fluid, and chemical supplies to respond to epidemic prevention; and is on emergency duty at Party and Spring celebration locations. At the same time, the hospital has directed departments and offices to arrange human resources, medical equipment, and develop backup plans to respond to medical examination and treatment activities during Tet.
In addition, the hospital arranges a 24/7 on-duty team, ensuring full on-duty at 4 levels including leadership on-duty, professional on-duty, administrative on-duty and security on-duty. The on-duty teams are always present at the on-duty position, ready to receive, examine, and provide emergency care to patients, and promptly handle emergency cases.
In order to ensure medical services for people to celebrate Tet safely, the Hanoi Department of Health requires units to proactively prevent and control epidemics, closely monitor the development of the epidemic situation in the city; promptly take samples for testing and early diagnosis of pathogens, and thoroughly handle them to prevent the disease from spreading.
The Department of Health assigned the 115 Emergency Center to arrange human resources and means to ensure emergency care outside the hospital, support patient transportation; be ready to be on duty 24/7 and 7 emergency satellite stations, especially to respond to emergencies, natural disasters, catastrophes...; coordinate and guide units in responding to emergency care outside the hospital.
In cases of going to a different medical facility or department, the medical facility must provide initial emergency treatment and provide full explanation to the patient and their family before transferring them to another medical facility. In particular, units must proactively prepare plans to receive patients and respond to accidents, poisonings, and mass emergencies that may occur during Tet.
The health sector recommends that people should proactively protect their health, eat healthily, and not use alcohol of unknown origin to avoid poisoning and serious complications; when using alcohol, do not participate in traffic to avoid accidents; and do not use firecrackers to avoid unfortunate accidents that affect health and life.
