On August 22, information from Da Nang Hospital said that within the framework of the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City Stroke Conference that just took place, the Stroke Department, Da Nang Hospital was awarded the "Diamond Treatment Standard" certificate from the President of the World Stroke Organization (WSO).
Established in April 2019, the Stroke Department of Da Nang Hospital currently has 13 doctors, nearly 40 nurses and medical staff with more than 100 hospital beds.
Since its inception, the Stroke Department has strived to gradually build and improve to keep up with the treatment standards of leading centers in the country and the region.
Currently, each month, the Stroke Department receives and treats about 300 - 400 stroke patients in the Da Nang area as well as the Central region, including many severe and critical stroke patients.

To achieve the "diamond" standard, the Stroke Department has constantly updated and improved professional processes; built a team spirit, coordinated with other departments (emergency, diagnostic imaging, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, testing...) in emergency care and patient treatment; closely cooperated with the 115 Emergency Center in out-of-hospital emergency care and receiving stroke patients...
The Stroke Department is also fully equipped with modern equipment to be able to perform all techniques for screening and evaluating stroke patients, such as: echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, Holter electrocardiography, CT angiography, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), high-resolution MRI...

It is known that the "Diamond Treatment Standard" has strict criteria for emergency treatment times for patients and requirements for treatment quality, such as: 75% of patients receiving thrombolysis must have taken medication within 60 minutes of admission; 75% of patients undergoing thrombectomy must have started the intervention within 120 minutes of admission; 90% of patients undergo brain imaging; 90% of patients are assessed for swallowing ability...
To achieve the diamond standard, previously, the Stroke Department, Da Nang Hospital had successively achieved the gold and platinum treatment standards of WSO.
