Long Thuy is a small fishing village located about 10km south of Tuy Hoa City ( Phu Yen province).

The people here mainly make their living by fishing for shrimp and fish in the sea.

As the sun rose, boats of all sizes docked one after another at Long Thuy.

Most of these boats fish near the shore. Most boats set sail at 5 PM the previous day, while some fishermen choose to head out to sea at 3 AM.

The methods and times of fishing may vary, but around 5:30 AM, fishermen are busy bringing their fresh fish and shrimp back to shore after many hours of earning a living at sea.

Setting sail at 3 am, Mr. and Mrs. Dien (from Long Thuy) only managed to bring back ashore a little over 5 kg of sea bass, along with a few barracuda.

"My boat is small, so my wife and I only fish about 5km from the shore. On a good night, we get over ten kilograms, but on a bad night, we get less or come back empty-handed. Today, we only brought back 5kg of fish, which sold for 200,000 dong, enough to buy rice and fish sauce to feed our family," Mr. Dien said happily.

Fortunately, Nguyen Van Minh's boat hit a school of anchovies, yielding 20kg.
"The anchovies were fresh and delicious, so buyers really liked them, which is why the price was 100,000 VND/kg. Calculated over the night, my boat and three workers earned more than 2 million VND. After deducting expenses, each person received 600,000 VND," Minh shared.

Traders wait on the beach to buy fresh fish from the boats of the people of Long Thuy, and bring it back to the city to sell for profit.

"Every day at 5 a.m., I'm here to start buying fish from the fishermen. They have their own outlets, and I transport the fish to the city to earn some extra profit. Because the fish are caught near the shore, the fish in Long Thuy are very fresh and popular with buyers," said Ms. Oanh, a fish buyer.

After selling their catch, some people quickly take their fishing gear home to dry, while others untangle their nets in preparation for a new fishing trip.
