Bayern raises Kane's asking price to $120 million

Having been rejected three times by Tottenham, Bayern are still pursuing Harry Kane and will submit a fourth offer, worth $120 million, this week.

On August 4, Bayern made a third offer for Kane for $109 million plus add-ons, but Tottenham rejected it. The Bundesliga champions then took a tough stance by giving the English team a day to decide. Tottenham did not respond within the deadline, but still informed Bayern that they did not accept the offer.

Tottenham previously rejected Bayern's offer of $77 million in June and $90 million in July.

On the evening of August 7, Bayern's board of directors met to decide whether to continue pursuing Kane or not. According to Sky Sports , after agreeing that Bayern still wanted the England striker, Bayern will raise their offer to $120 million plus additional fees to once again convince Tottenham to release Kane.

Bayern believe Kane's future will be decided this week, as the 30-year-old striker wants, before Tottenham's 2023-24 Premier League opener against Brentford on August 13. If a deal with Bayern cannot be finalised, Kane is likely to stay.

Kane has just one year left on his Tottenham contract and is not interested in signing a new one, meaning he can leave for free next summer. If that happens, Tottenham could lose their key striker for nothing, or even see him join a Premier League rival - something Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been trying to prevent for years.

Kane is currently training and playing actively under new coach Ange Postecoglou. On August 6, he played in a friendly, winning 5-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk and scoring four goals. However, Kane did not travel to Catalonia to play in Tottenham's final friendly of the summer - a 2-4 loss to Barca on August 8.

Kane scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season as Tottenham finished eighth and missed out on European football. The north London club have not won a trophy since 2008, which is one of the reasons why Kane wants to leave.

Kane has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Tottenham. He scored his first goal for the club in December 2011. In the Premier League alone, Kane has scored 213 goals in 320 appearances. He needs 48 more goals to break Alan Shearer's record for the most goals in the history of the competition.
