Arresting 'pimp' for prostitution

On July 13, the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Province Police announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case and arrest the defendant Vo Cong Tanh (55 years old, residing on Ngu Binh Street, An Tay Ward, Hue City) for the act of prostitution brokerage.

Previously, on July 4, the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police conducted an administrative inspection at Do Quan motel (153 Ngu Binh, Hue City) and discovered 4 people engaging in prostitution.

During the extended investigation, Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police identified the suspect Vo Cong Tanh as the person who brokered the prostitution case here.

At the police station, this "pimp" confessed that brokering prostitutes for customers happened every day. Tinh was the one who agreed on the price and location of the prostitution, in order to receive a commission.

Ngu Binh Street used to be a "hot spot" for prostitution. Here, many businesses disguised as garden cafes and motels with prostitutes to serve customers have been reported by the press, causing public outrage.

In August 2020, the professional force of the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police discovered and caught red-handed 3 couples of men and women engaging in prostitution at Do Quan motel.

Motel owner Do Quan also confessed that although he runs a motel, if customers want to buy sex, he still contacts some brokers to bring people to sell sex to customers at the motel.
