On November 20, news from Nga Son District Police (Thanh Hoa Province) said that Nga Son District Police detectives had just coordinated with Thanh Xuan District Police (Hanoi City) to arrest Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1998; residing in Nga Giap Commune, Nga Son District), a person with a special wanted warrant, for the crime of "property destruction".
According to documents from the Investigation Police Agency of Nga Son District Police, on August 11, 2021, due to a personal conflict with Mr. PHH (residing in Nga Yen Commune, Nga Son District), Cuong prepared a plastic bag, 2 raincoats, 1 plastic can of gasoline, a lighter, then asked a resident in the same commune to drive a motorbike to find Mr. H. to resolve the matter.

When he saw Mr. H's car parked on Highway 10, Cuong poured gasoline on the car, then set it on fire, causing 289 million VND in damage.
After committing the crime, Cuong fled to the southern provinces, then went to Hanoi to borrow the profile of a technology-based motorbike taxi driver who had quit his job to drive. For more than 2 years on the run, Cuong continuously changed his residence to avoid being caught by the police.
On November 17, after receiving information about a person with identifying characteristics similar to Nguyen Van Cuong driving a motorbike taxi in Thuong Dinh ward (Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi), Nga Son district police sent a working group directly to Hanoi to verify.
Identifying that it was Nguyen Van Cuong, Nga Son District Police coordinated with Thanh Xuan District Police to arrest Cuong and extradite him to the locality for handling according to regulations.
