On June 1, the General Department of Market Management (Ministry of Industry and Trade) announced that Market Management Team No. 1, Market Management Team No. 25 (Hanoi Market Management Department) had just coordinated with the Economic Police Team - Chuong My District Police to catch a facility producing tens of thousands of bottles of functional foods suspected to be counterfeit.

According to information from the Market Management Force, this functional food production facility is a damp, cramped level 4 house, with an area of about 50 square meters, located deep in Cao Son village, Tien Phuong commune, Chuong My district.
At the time of the surprise inspection, there were four local workers at the facility. The owner was not present.

During the actual inspection, the authorities recorded that at the facility there were nearly 12,000 bottles/boxes of functional foods that had been packaged into finished products with eye-catching packaging and labels.
Notably, although produced and packaged in this cramped house, the outside of the boxes mostly show origin from countries such as the US, Japan, and Korea.
In addition, a large number of finished products here also show that the units responsible for product quality are domestic enterprises such as: Supharmco Company Limited; Lady Cara Import Export Service Trading Company Limited; GENIX Trading Company Limited, Thinh Tam Duong Joint Stock Company, Tavuco Vietnam Trading Company Limited...
In addition to the above finished goods, the authorities also recorded that the business establishment contained more than 4,000 plastic bottles containing effervescent tablets without labels; 67 kg of various unlabeled pills.

In addition, there are nearly 45,000 paper labels of various types with the words Lady, Xtraman, Toca, V3, anti-counterfeit stamps; more than 15,000 paper boxes of various types, along with a heat gun and a used heat press machine with foreign labels.
In the implementation stage, workers will process and package effervescent tablets and tablets contained in different plastic bags into unlabeled plastic boxes with a predetermined number of tablets.
Next, workers use heat guns and heat presses to stick pre-printed labels of brands such as Lady, V3, Xtraman, HYPOLY, HeBora Collggen Enrich; Collagen Top Queen New, Glucosamine, BORA... onto the outside of the box.
The final step is to have an anti-counterfeit stamp applied. The product will then be placed in a waiting position, ready to be delivered to the consumer.

The Market Management Force said that at the time of inspection, this facility was operating without a business registration certificate; trading goods without listing prices as prescribed; it could not be determined whether it was doing business on e-commerce.

Notably, this facility has signs of producing counterfeit food products with counterfeit labels and packaging with the name and address of the enterprise producing and distributing the product; Forging the product circulation registration code as prescribed in Decree No. 98/2020 with a total value of counterfeit goods according to the value of genuine goods of over 278 million VND.
Also present at the scene were representatives of Supharmco LLC and Thinh Tam Duong Joint Stock Company to identify the products.
Accordingly, Mr. Kieu Trung Son, an employee of Supharmco Company Limited, said that the finished health protection effervescent tablets labeled LADY at the business establishment were not products manufactured by Fresh Life Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Supharmco Company Limited was responsible for the quality of the product. The product had a counterfeit label and packaging with the name and address of the enterprise manufacturing and distributing the product; counterfeited product registration codes.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huy, an employee of Thinh Tam Duong Joint Stock Company, also confirmed that the 5,000 boxes of finished health food products with the word XTraman at the business establishment that the authorities inspected were not products manufactured by SANTEX Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and that Thinh Tam Duong Joint Stock Company was directly responsible for the products.
On June 1, Market Management Team No. 1 transferred all documents and evidence of the case with signs of criminality at this facility to Chuong My District Police for handling according to regulations.
