On November 2, Thu Duc City Police arrested Ho Thi Ngoc Hoa (67 years old), Nguyen Thi Ha (58 years old), Tran Trung Hieu Hoa, Cao Van Giau and Nguyen Thanh Hoang to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.
According to the investigation, on the morning of July 18, the above mentioned group of people went around Thu Duc City and neighboring areas to find women carrying a lot of assets, in order to approach and defraud them.
When arriving at Provincial Road 43 (Binh Chieu Ward), the group discovered that Ms. DTMH was wearing gold jewelry.
This group assigned Hoa to approach Ms. H. and make up a story about going from An Giang to Ho Chi Minh City to deliver a large quantity of shampoo, but because she got lost, she asked for her help. At the same time, Ha came from afar to approach, talk, and get to know Ms. H.
Hoa pretended to ask Ha if she would lead the way, she would give her 10 bottles of shampoo, and at the same time, dragged Ms. H. into the situation set up by this group.
Seeing the victim fall into the trap, this group let Hoa act as a shampoo buyer and waited at Street No. 3 (Tam Binh Ward).
Ms. H. was asked by this group to drive a motorbike carrying Ha, leading Hoa to the place where Hoa was waiting to deliver the shampoo.

Next, Hoa pretended to have 2 diamonds and asked the victim to help her ask for a commission if she could sell them. This group also had someone stage a scene where they agreed to buy the diamond for 3.4 taels of gold.
Before giving the diamond to the victim H. and her accomplice Ha. Hoa asked the victim to leave behind collateral. Ha immediately gave Hoa a fake gold ring that she had prepared in advance. Seeing this, Ms. H. also left behind a gold bracelet. After defrauding the victim of her property, the group quickly escaped.
Upon receiving the news, the Thu Duc City Police Department's professional teams urgently investigated, pursued and arrested Hoa, Hoa, Ha, Giau and Hoang.
Expanding the investigation, the police determined that this was a group of professional scammers, with well-planned, well-executed tricks and plans. The victims of this group were mostly women who wore a lot of jewelry.
At the police station, the group confessed to having committed many other similar cases in Ho Chi Minh City. To assist in the investigation, Thu Duc City Police announced that anyone who was a victim of the above group should contact the Criminal Police Team of Thu Duc City Police to provide information and report the case.
