Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice Principal of the School of Foreign Languages ​​and Social Sciences at Duy Tan University, said that this year Duy Tan University will enroll students in four ways: Direct admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's admission plan; considering the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; considering high school study results; and admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University in 2024 for all majors, except architecture.

Regarding the social sciences and humanities sector, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong shared: "Statistics from the school in the 2023-2024 school year show that the number of students studying social sciences and humanities is the highest at Duy Tan University. This is quite surprising because in the current digital technology context, the technology and economics sectors seem to be more numerous. But no, the majors of multimedia communications, Vietnamese studies, foreign languages, etc. are the most registered by candidates."

Answering candidates’ concerns about career opportunities and income in the literature industry, Dr. Huong said that this field of study has wide-open job opportunities. Many graduates have become editors, teachers, writers, journalists, etc.

"There will not be a specific figure for the income of literature students because it depends on each person's ability. But reality shows that there are writers with very good incomes like writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. This case may be rare but it is not impossible," Dr. Huong gave an example.

Note on admission regulations for pedagogical majors

According to Master Truong Quang Tri, Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the school plans to recruit about 10,000 students with 4 methods. Accordingly, the school will consider the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam according to the subject group (40% of the target), consider the transcript (40% of the target), consider the results of the capacity assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University. In addition to the social sciences and humanities, the school also trains in preschool education. "To be admitted to preschool education, candidates need to meet the input quality threshold according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. In particular, with the method of considering transcripts and capacity assessment, candidates need to have excellent 12th grade performance or a graduation score of 8.0 or higher," Master Tri noted.

Regarding this year's admission information, Master Nguyen said that the school's first round of transcript review method has seen the number of registered candidates increase by more than 30% compared to 2023 and increase by about 20% compared to 2022. Among them, many social sciences and humanities majors are of great interest to candidates such as: psychology, public relations, multimedia communications, tourism-restaurant-hotel, languages... This shows the important role of this major in society.

"Notably, there are social sciences and humanities majors in the top 10 majors with the most candidates registering for early admission in the first round this year, such as public relations," Master Nguyen informed.
