According to data analysis by the Gracenote supercomputer, the Vietnamese women's team has an 8% chance of passing the group stage of the 2023 World Cup.
Vietnam women's team is ready for World Cup 2023.
This is a fairly high rate because the Vietnamese women's team fell into a very difficult group with the presence of strong names including the US, the Netherlands and Portugal.
In addition, the rate of passing the group stage of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team is higher than 8 other teams: Philippines (7%), Jamaica, South Africa (both 5%), Nigeria, Panama (4%), Haiti (3%), Morocco and Zambia (1%).
Also according to the Gracenote supercomputer, the Vietnamese women's team has a 2% chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the 2023 World Cup.
However, the girls in red did not have the chance to reach the semi-finals and finals at the biggest women's football festival on the planet.
Meanwhile, according to Gracenote data, the US women's team has the best chance of winning the 2023 World Cup with 18%.
Following closely behind are Sweden, Germany (both 11%), France (9%), UK, Spain, Australia (8%), Brazil (7%), Canada (6%), Netherlands (5%), Denmark and Italy (1%).
The three Asian teams, Japan, China and South Korea, have winning rates of 3%, 1% and 1% respectively.
According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's team will play their opening match against the US at 8:00 a.m. on July 22.
In this match, the supercomputer predicted that Huynh Nhu and her teammates had a 1.23% chance of winning and a 3.03% chance of drawing against the reigning tournament champion.
After the match with the US, the girls in red will face Portugal (July 27) and the Netherlands (August 1).
