According to the feelings of many people in Ho Chi Minh City, after days of frequent rain, the rain has decreased in the past few days, causing the hot and stuffy weather to return. Although not as severe as the end of April and beginning of May, the heat is very uncomfortable, even indoors, especially when exposed directly to sunlight.
Unexpected heat returns to the Southern region
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 25, the Southern region experienced widespread heat waves, with the highest daily temperature commonly ranging from 35 to 36 degrees Celsius. Some places in the West recorded intense heat waves exceeding 37 degrees Celsius, such as Cao Lanh (Dong Thap) at 37.7 degrees Celsius; Can Tho at 37 degrees Celsius... In the Southeast, the highest temperature in Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong) was 36.9 degrees Celsius. In addition, the area from Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa experienced localized heat waves.
Today, the South continues to have hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35 - 36 degrees Celsius, some places above 36 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranging from 55 - 60%. From May 27, the heat in the South tends to gradually decrease.
Suddenly the heat returns to the South, the temperature outside reaches 40 degrees Celsius
The sudden return of heat to the South is because the southwest wind has been weak in recent days, so there has been little rain, causing the heat to return. From around May 28 to 29, the southwest wind will be strong again, causing more rain in the South, less intense heat, and a milder temperature.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in Ho Chi Minh City this evening, rain will appear in a small area in some localities such as: Thu Duc, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Go Vap, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, District 12... From May 28, rain may appear in a large area in the city.
In addition to the Southern region, today heat waves may occur in mountainous areas from Nghe An to Phu Yen, with some places experiencing severe heat. From May 27, heat waves will expand to the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranging from 50 - 55%.
