Emergency arrest of truck driver who hit and killed someone and fled

On September 16, Bao Loc City Police, Lam Dong Province, announced that they had just issued an emergency arrest warrant for Mr. Tran Van Chuc (43 years old, from Khanh Hoa ) to investigate his violation of regulations on driving vehicles on roads.

Mr. Chuc was identified as the truck driver who caused the accident that killed motorbike driver Vu Hoang Minh Nhat (34 years old, from Bao Loc City) on the afternoon of September 14. After the collision on National Highway 20 in Loc Nga Commune, Bao Loc City, Mr. Chuc fled the scene.

Authorities determined that the driver, Chuc, had driven the truck to a relative’s coffee plantation. He was later arrested by the police and his vehicle was impounded.

At the time of his arrest, driver Chuc showed signs of having consumed alcohol. Through testing, the police determined that driver Chuc had an alcohol concentration of 0.941mlg/liter of breath.
