On June 24, the Mang Thit District Police Investigation Agency (Vinh Long) announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue an order to temporarily detain Nguyen Hoang Vu (20 years old), Mai Van Tan Dat (19 years old, both residing in Mang Thit District) to investigate the act of property theft. These are the two accused who stole the generator from the Mang Thit District Medical Center.

Previously, Mang Thit District Police received a report from an officer of Mang Thit District Medical Center about a burglary and theft of a generator worth nearly 45 million VND. Using professional measures, the police identified Nguyen Hoang Vu and Mai Van Tan Dat as suspects and invited them to the agency for questioning.
Through investigation, Vu and Dat confessed that at around 11am on May 5, Vu drove his motorbike to Dat's house to play, then discussed and agreed to go to the old Mang Thit District Medical Center (located in Hamlet 4, Cai Nhum Town, Mang Thit District) to steal property. Upon arrival, both opened the gate of the medical center, used the tools they brought with them to remove the screws and stole a 124.5 kg generator from the stairwell area.

After stealing, Vu and Dat quickly transported the generator to a scrap metal shop in Cai Nhum Town, Mang Thit District for 1.5 million VND, and divided it among themselves.
Evidence recovered by police
According to the police, Vu and Dat are both drug addicts. Both are being prosecuted by the Mang Thit District Police Department for theft and are being banned from leaving their place of residence for investigation, but during this time they continue to commit crimes.
Vu was once fined 2.5 million VND by Mang Thit District Police for theft of property.
The case of generator theft from the Medical Center is being further investigated by Mang Thit District Police to clarify and handle.
