The third year of the Greenhouse Accelerator (GHAC) program in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region has just opened applications for startups specializing in the fields of agriculture, sustainability, and circular economy.
The Greenhouse Accelerator (GHAC) 2025 program in the Asia-Pacific region, dedicated to startups specializing in sustainable agriculture, has officially opened for applications.
In its third year, the program continues to seek and support startups with innovative solutions in the field of sustainable development, including sustainable agriculture, circular economy and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
GHAC 2025 promises to be a launch pad for startups with PepsiCo’s support. Finalists will receive $20,000 in non-equity funding, one-on-one mentorship from PepsiCo senior leaders, and the opportunity to pitch their solutions at the finals.
The winning team will receive an additional $100,000 to develop and scale their business model.
In the previous two seasons (2023 and 2024), the program supported 15 projects from 7 countries in the region. Notably, in 2024, Vietnamese start-up Alterno with solar energy storage battery technology won thanks to its breakthrough sand battery solution. This technology is not only applied at PepsiCo Foods Vietnam, but also opens up the potential for widespread application in industry and agriculture.
This technology has proven its practical application in industry, with the prospect of expanding to many other fields such as agriculture and other industries.
According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with USAID, more than 40% of medium-sized enterprises and nearly 50% of small enterprises in Vietnam have yet to approach the concept of ESG (Environment, Social and Governance).
In this context, GHAC 2025 affirms PepsiCo's commitment to promoting sustainable technology. Through the program, startups will receive intensive support to achieve business growth and integrate ESG goals into their long-term development strategies.
Ashley Brown, vice president of supply chain Australia-New Zealand and director of sustainability for PepsiCo APAC, said GHAC is designed to support startups in creating meaningful solutions, while connecting them to PepsiCo's global network of partners and investors.
This year, the program focuses on three main areas including Circular Economy, Sustainable Agriculture and Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction: Renewable Energy Development and Emission Reduction Technology.
By promoting renewable energy, reducing environmental impact, and improving farming methods, GHAC empowers startups to provide innovative solutions that enable scale.
In particular, GHAC 2025 will collaborate with strategic partners such as Circulate Capital and CG Ventures to improve the quality of mentoring and support participating startups. In Vietnam, the program continues to accompany Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam.
