On the afternoon of October 25, according to Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, the Investigation Police Agency of Nha Trang City Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue an arrest warrant for the accused Le Tam Dung (born in 1978, living as a vagrant in Nha Trang City) for the crime of theft of property.
Previously, on the evening of October 24, a working group of the Criminal Police Team of Nha Trang City Police approached an abandoned house on Le Loi Street, Xuong Huan Ward (Nha Trang City) and discovered 3 subjects with many unusual signs, including Le Tam Dung and 2 drug addicts.
Next to the sleeping mats of the subjects, there were many meters of telecommunication cable with the copper core cut and dozens of meters of telecommunication cable.

Through the investigation, Dung confessed that in order to have money to buy drugs to satisfy his addiction, from the beginning of October 2023 until his arrest, Dung had committed 13 cases of stealing telecommunication cables in many wards in Nha Trang City.
Along with taking statements, the investigation agency conducted a rapid drug test, the results showed that all 3 were positive for drugs.
Dung confessed that he had a previous conviction for drug trafficking. After serving a 7-year prison sentence, in 2007 Dung returned to his hometown and continued to use drugs, becoming more and more addicted.
The two remaining addicts discovered by the authorities at the abandoned house on Le Loi Street confessed that they had previously used drugs and had gone to the house to sleep with Dung. These two people have now been sent to compulsory drug rehabilitation at the Khanh Hoa Province Drug Rehabilitation Center in Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District.

According to the Criminal Police Team of Nha Trang City Police, from the beginning of October 2023 until now, most wards have had consecutive incidents of telecommunication cables of VNPT, FPT... being stolen, causing damage to network operators and causing some customers to lose network connection, while also negatively affecting the security and order situation in the area.
Typically, in the early morning of October 22, at the telecommunications cable cabinet of VNPT network on Pasteur Street, Xuong Huan Ward (Nha Trang City), 2 pieces of telecommunications cable were stolen (100-pair and 200-pair cables, copper core and total length up to 17 meters).
Examining the scene, the authorities determined that to carry out the above acts, the criminals took advantage of the absence of passersby and used pliers to cut telecommunication cables of the VNPT network.
In addition, according to statistics from the Criminal Police Team, along with the above methods and tricks, in addition to the incident on Pasteur Street, from the beginning of October 2023 to now, bad guys have caused 12 cases of cutting telecommunication cables in the area.
Faced with the above situation, the leaders of Nha Trang City Police have directed the Criminal Police Team to coordinate with professional units and the police of communes and wards in the area to urgently arrest the subjects who caused the telecommunication cable theft cases to bring them to strict punishment before the law.
