(Fatherland) - On November 13, the Department of Culture and Sports (DOC) of Quang Binh province coordinated with the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to organize a scientific workshop on "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh province associated with tourism development".

The workshop aimed to assess the current status of the good traditional cultural values ​​of the Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh province. The remaining ethnic minorities with small populations are: Tho, Muong, Tay, Thai, Pa Co... The Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh has about 1,860 households with more than 7,800 people, accounting for about 2.3% of the province's population. In the process of survival and development, the Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh province has tried to create and preserve many unique material and spiritual cultural values, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Some tourism economic development models have been formed and operated quite effectively by companies. The implementation of tourism models has contributed to job creation, income generation, and improvement of living standards; at the same time, raising awareness among the people about the good traditional cultural values ​​of their people.

Chut ethnic people in Quang Binh participate in training courses on preserving cultural values ​​held in localities in Quang Binh province.

In addition to the initial results achieved, the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh province in association with tourism development is still not commensurate with the historical depth and cultural values ​​of the locality; some types of traditional culture are at risk of being lost.

The workshop aims to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and people in joining hands to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in Quang Binh province in general and the Chut ethnic group in particular; promote propaganda and education activities in many rich and diverse forms.

At the workshop, many opinions of scientists were very practical to preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values ​​of the Chut ethnic group in Quang Binh province.

To do this, it is also necessary to have policy mechanisms and mobilize resources to serve the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities; continue to effectively implement Project 6 "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development".
