The National Press Awards Ceremony for Anti-Corruption and Negativity is a meaningful activity that contributes to encouraging, honoring, praising and motivating journalists nationwide, promptly detecting and condemning negative corruption phenomena, reflecting the role of social supervision and criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and all classes of people.
Create unity among cadres, party members and people in preventing and combating corruption
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the agencies that organized this meaningful Press Award; commended and congratulated the authors and groups of authors of the 54 best works that were commended and honored at the Award Ceremony.
To promote the achieved results and further strengthen the pioneering role of the press in the fight against corruption and negativity, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized that it is necessary to continue to strengthen the leadership of the Party and the management and administration of the State so that the Vietnamese revolutionary press can operate in the right direction and actively and effectively participate in the fight against corruption and negativity.

Press agencies and journalists' associations at all levels should enhance their roles and responsibilities in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of journalists and members in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Along with that, the organization of the Anti-Corruption and Negativity Press Awards needs to continue to be innovated so that journalists have the opportunity to participate more actively, with many quality works, creating an effect in society.
Works that show commitment and persistence to the end of the case
After two years of organization and implementation, as of August 31, 2023, the Organizing Committee of the 4th National Anti-Corruption and Negativity Press Award, 2022 - 2023, has received 1,078 valid works for 4 categories: print, electronic, radio, television from 121 press agencies at the central and local levels. With the spirit of democracy, objectivity, impartiality, and high responsibility, the members of the Final Jury conducted a careful selection, unanimously selecting 54 outstanding works to award 4 A prizes; 10 B prizes; 12 C prizes; 28 Encouragement prizes.
At this Award, the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper had a 5-part work: "Illegal subdivision" of cemetery land in Hanoi; Author group: Nguyen Quan Tuan, Tran Van Quoc, Quach Ha Duong published on the Journalist and Public Opinion Online Newspaper won the A prize.

Journalist Tran Van Quoc represented the group of authors of the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper to receive the A prize for the fourth National Journalism Award for preventing and combating corruption and negativity.
The series of articles was developed over many months, based on feedback from many people. At the end of 2022, the group of reporters went into the field, recording illegal land purchase and sale negotiations and service fee collection at many people's cemeteries in Hanoi. Not only sending feedback to local leaders to grasp and handle the situation, the group of authors also met with experts and National Assembly deputies to record objective opinions contributing to the management of this situation.

This is also the second time that the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper has won a high prize at the National Anti-Corruption and Negative Journalism Award. The first time was the series of articles: "Journey to find justice for cadre Nguyen Ngoc Loi" - which was honored to win the B prize of the Third National Anti-Corruption and Negative Journalism Award, 2020 - 2021. Through 4 times of organization so far, the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper has won the award twice and both times were high prizes. This is the motivation for the group of reporters to continue to strive to have good and quality series of articles, contributing to the work of preventing and combating corruption and negative.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, in general, the works participating in this year's Award have closely followed the theme and criteria of the Award Rules. Many works have good quality, high discovery, demonstrating the dedication and persistence of journalists in investigating corruption and negative incidents, creating a great social impact, bringing positive results in the fight against corruption and negative incidents through a variety of vivid topics in the style of modern journalism.
Reflecting the determination of the Party and State, the involvement of functional agencies, the response and active participation of all classes of people in the fight against corruption and negativity from the Central to local levels, the works entered into the competition are the crystallization of the hard work of journalists, overcoming all difficulties, pressures, and even dangers in the process of working to have journalistic works with high fighting spirit and profound humanity.

The new point of this Award is that there are more works written on the topic of preventing and combating negativity that are highly appreciated by the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Award; at the same time, there are also more works on the topic of praising and encouraging brave examples in the fight against corruption and negativity, which have a widespread impact in society.
