According to the newly issued Decree 67/2023/ND-CP, civil liability insurance (TNDS) for motor vehicles, including motorbikes, is a mandatory document when participating in traffic.
The current TNDS insurance level clearly stipulates the liability limit for damage to health and life caused by motor vehicles at 150 million VND per person in an accident. For property damage, the maximum compensation is 50 million VND.
A survey of some major insurance companies such as PTI Post Insurance, Bao Viet Insurance, MIC Military Insurance, and PVI Insurance Corporation shows that the current price of TNDS insurance for motorbikes over 50cc is 66,000 VND/year. Other types of vehicles such as electric motorbikes and motorbikes under 50cc have a similar insurance price of 60,500 VND/year. For large displacement motorbikes and three-wheeled motorbikes over 175cc, the insurance price increases to 319,000 VND/year.
Buying motorbike insurance can get compensation of 150 million VND for life and 50 million VND for property for accident victims.

Buy directly at reputable locations: People can buy motorbike insurance at official distributors, banks, or reputable gas stations. When buying, just provide the necessary documents such as Citizen ID or National Identity Card, and vehicle registration. After completing the procedure, customers will receive a certificate of compulsory TNDS insurance and voluntary insurance (if any).
Buy online via payment applications: For those who are busy or inconvenient to go to points of sale, buying motorbike insurance via payment applications such as My Viettel, Viettel Pay, Momo wallet... is a convenient choice.
Simply download the app, enter the necessary information and complete the payment, and the buyer will receive an electronic TNDS insurance certificate with a QR code for easy checking when needed.
Buying insurance from reputable sources is very important to avoid buying fake insurance that has no legal value. Some bad guys are currently taking advantage of people's lack of knowledge to sell fake motorbike insurance cards at cheaper prices, but do not guarantee compensation benefits in case of accidents.
