Industry and Trade Newspaper joins hands and hearts towards flood-hit areas

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) making landfall in the North of our country, in recent days, widespread floods have caused serious consequences for the northern mountainous provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son... the human and material losses are enormous. Thousands of households are isolated, tens of thousands of people are living in misery, surrounded by floodwaters, students cannot go to school.

Many northern mountainous provinces are in pain and danger. Emergency relief for victims affected by floods is urgently needed. Leaders of the Party, State, Government, central ministries and branches, and localities are working hard to direct, support, provide relief, and accompany people to overcome natural disasters. However, the damage is too great, and the cooperation and contribution of the community and society is needed.

In the spirit of "mutual love", "the whole leaf covers the torn leaf", "a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", responding to the call of General Secretary, President To Lam; Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; The launching program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade chaired by Minister Nguyen Hong Dien on the morning of September 11, with the spirit of "highest and fastest" support for families affected by storms and floods. Accordingly, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, the Youth Union, and the Association of Journalists of the Industry and Trade Newspaper officially launched the program "Joining hands to support people in flood-hit areas" to raise funds and support students in highland areas to return to school soon, helping families affected by floods to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Trade Union, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Industry and Trade Newspaper Nguyen Tien Cuong emphasized that with the support of officials, civil servants, workers and the contributions of organizations, businesses, and philanthropists, every year, Industry and Trade Newspaper has organized many charity programs from North to South.

In 2024, the Newspaper's social work became more professional. The Newspaper established a separate account and assigned a department to fully monitor revenue from benefactors. From the collected funds, the Newspaper used them for social activities, first of all to support flood victims in the Northern provinces.

Launching the program "Joining hands to support people in flood-affected areas", Cong Thuong Newspaper hopes to receive money, goods, necessities, food, household items... to support people in flood-affected areas.

The leaders of the Industry and Trade Newspaper affirmed that the practical contributions from the Newspaper's officials and employees, the business community, benefactors and people supporting the people in the northern mountainous provinces will be delivered directly to the people by the Industry and Trade Newspaper's Social Work Delegation.

In addition, many businesses and philanthropists also donated hundreds of millions of VND worth of goods, which were directly delivered by the Industry and Trade Newspaper's working group to Nan San commune, Simacai district and Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.
