Two years ago, the founder of the famous Huynh Hoa bread brand announced that he would separate and open Ba Huynh bread shop due to personal conflicts, causing a stir among the public at that time.
Why do you copy?
In recent days, stories related to Huynh Hoa bread have suddenly been revived when many food lovers discovered a bakery named Trang, which also has a style "similar" to this once "popular" bread brand.
Specifically, in a review clip by TikToker @binbunne, when asked if Trang bread is a "copycat" version of Huynh Hoa bread, the shop owner replied:
"The meat, sausage, pate, and butter at Huynh Hoa are made by you. Of which, pate is the core ingredient, and you also make it. So why would you copy it?"
Below this TikToker's video, some diners also confirmed that the owner of Trang bread used to make ingredients for Huynh Hoa bread.
However, some people think this is just a dirty marketing trick, to follow a famous brand that came before.

Not so different
Many people flock to Trang bread to try the taste and comment that the bread here is not too different from Huynh Hoa bread because it still retains the style of full filling.
According to food reviewers on social networks, almost all the ingredients seen in Huynh Hoa sandwiches are available at Trang sandwich shop with a variety of fillings such as: char siu pork, various types of sausages, pate, butter, shredded pork, dried onions...
However, some diners think that the flavor of Trang bread is not as rich as Huynh Hoa bread because when eaten with pate and other ingredients, it is somewhat bland, even though there are quite a lot of toppings.
In addition to the traditional filling, Trang bread also has another filling. That is seafood bread with a price of over 70,000 VND.
This type of bread is considered to have a special flavor when the filling is made from seafood such as: fish eggs, shrimp cakes, squid cakes, sea fish cakes, shrimp pate...
A traditional sandwich at Trang's shop costs 68,000 VND, depending on the type of filling added, the price fluctuates accordingly.
Diners consider this a high price compared to the general level, even "slightly" higher than Huynh Hoa bread.
However, for a serving size suitable for two people, the price is reasonable.

All three bakeries Huynh Hoa, Ba Huynh or Trang are competing with each other on the culinary map in Saigon and attracting a lot of curiosity and interest from diners. Each shop has its advantages and disadvantages.
Putting aside the surrounding rumors, now those who love bread in Saigon will probably have another choice to enjoy and have their own feelings.
