- State Bank issues new regulations on organization and management of gold bar production

The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has just issued Decision 02 amending and supplementing Decision 1623/QD-NHNN dated August 23, 2012 on the organization and management of gold bar production by the SBV. Decision 02 takes effect from January 2. Decision 02 amends and supplements a number of regulations related to the members of the Gold Bar Processing Supervision Team and adds the responsibilities of a number of units under the SBV in the organization and management of gold bar production by the SBV ( according to Thanh Nien ).

- Propose the Central Inspection Committee to handle officials related to gasoline violations

The Government Inspectorate has just announced the conclusion of the inspection on the implementation of policies and laws in the state management of petroleum. Accordingly, the Government Inspectorate has transferred the conclusion of the inspection on petroleum to the Central Inspection Committee for consideration and handling according to its authority for officials under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat, related to the shortcomings and violations mentioned in the inspection conclusion. - Spending 8,247 billion VND to compensate for Nghi Son refinery and petrochemical products

The Government assigned the central budget revenue and expenditure estimate for 2023 from other development investment expenditure sources to PVN of VND 8,247 billion to handle finances and pay price compensation in the product consumption of the Nghi Son oil refinery and petrochemical complex project in the 2018-2023 period ( according to Tuoi Tre ).

Today's world oil prices tend to increase following the previous session's increase. Domestic oil prices are being managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance in a coordinated downward direction, with some down to 21,000 VND/liter.

The stock market on January 4 recorded the VN-Index increase by 6.55 points, to 1,150.72 points. The market exploded in liquidity when it reached about 1 billion USD on the HoSE floor.

The central exchange rate on January 4 was 23,915 VND/USD, up 29 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 4 increased slightly, listed at the end of the session at 24,160 VND/USD (buy) and 24,530 VND/USD (sell). The international USD price went down.

The price of gold today on the world market has decreased quite sharply but is still stable above 2,000 USD/ounce, while the price of SJC gold bars is anchored around 75 million VND/tael.

Bank interest rates on January 4 continued to witness the sixth and seventh banks reducing deposit interest rates, namely KienLongBank and LPBank. In which, LPBank reduced extremely shockingly with an interest rate reduction of 0.5 to 0.7 percentage points for deposit terms from 1 to 11 months.
