- Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned EVN to propose building new power lines, increasing electricity imports from Laos
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has assigned the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to propose in December the deployment of a new transmission line from Laos to Vietnam to call for investment to increase the capacity of importing electricity from Laos. That was the direction of Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien at the Conference to promote cooperation in coal trading between Vietnam and Laos held on December 9, with the participation of representatives of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and a number of businesses operating in the field of mineral exploitation of Laos (according to Thanh Nien).

On December 9, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a conference to promote economic and trade cooperation between the northern border provinces and China. The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on the draft Decree detailing and implementing measures for a number of articles of the Law on Prices. The Law on Prices (amended) was passed by the 15th National Assembly at its 5th session in June 2023. In the draft, the Ministry of Finance clearly proposes the types of goods and services that must declare prices. Accordingly, accommodation services; vehicle parking services invested with non-state budget capital; and sightseeing services at tourist areas in the area will have to declare prices locally (according to Nguoi Lao Dong).

The Ministry of Transport has just completed and submitted to the Government a draft Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of the decrees related to the management of automobile transport activities (amending Decree 10/2020/ND-CP). According to the Draft, passenger cars, contract cars, and tourist cars that violate related regulations will be subject to the sanction of badge revocation and will be forced to return the badge within a 30-day revocation period and 45 days for recidivism within 6 months. In case of business license revocation, if they do not comply, the vehicle registration will be refused and the revocation period will be doubled (according to Tien Phong).

The People's Committee of Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province, said that from December 11, people and tourists with passports and travel books will be allowed to clear customs through Bac Luan 2 border gate.
