On the morning of February 15 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), tens of thousands of people in the capital and tourists from all over the country arrived early in the morning to participate in the Dong Da Mound Festival (Hanoi).
The Dong Da Mound Festival takes place all day on the 5th day of the first lunar month with many performances such as palanquin procession, dragon dance, war drum performance, human chess, reformed opera, tuong... to recreate part of the glorious victory of Emperor Quang Trung in the spring of Tet Ky Dau year 1789.
Early this morning (February 15), the organizing committee held an incense offering and sacrificial ceremony right in front of King Quang Trung's temple.
At 8:15 a.m., the procession of Emperor Quang Trung and Queen Ngoc Han took place in front of the temple.
Besides the solemn ceremony, the festival includes a welcoming art program by artists from the Vietnam Opera House, Vietnam Tuong Theater...

The epic performance about King Quang Trung at the opening morning of the 5th day of the festival was warmly received by visitors. This performance recreated the portrait of the hero Nguyen Hue, whose extraordinary intelligence and courage created a lightning-fast attack to liberate Thang Long citadel right in the peach blossom season.
After the victory, Nguyen Hue did not forget to send his wife Ngoc Han a peach blossom branch to announce the victory.
This performance was very lively, helping people understand more about this special historical event.
After the ceremony, people poured out in all directions to participate in recreational activities in the Dong Da mound. People respectfully offered incense to King Quang Trung.
Dong Da Mound is located on Tay Son Street, Quang Trung Ward, Dong Da District. Here in 1789, the Tay Son army under the command of King Quang Trung defeated 290,000 invading Manchu troops led by Ton Si Nghi.
This victory maintained the independence and unity of the country and crushed the long-term invasion of our country by the Northern forces. From then on, for hundreds of years, the Northern invaders did not dare to invade our country.
