(CPV) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed Decision No. 1437/QD-TTg dated November 20, 2024 promulgating the National Action Plan on Digital Economic Development for the 2024-2025 period.
The plan sets out the goal of gradually making digital technology and digital data an important input factor for production and business activities. |
The objective of the Plan is to promote the development of the digital economy to achieve the goals set out in Decision No. 411/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2022 approving the National Strategy for the Development of the Digital Economy and Digital Society to 2025, with a vision to 2030 (the Strategy). In particular, the main growth space of Vietnam's digital economy is determined to be the development of the digital economy by industry and sector; gradually making digital technology and digital data an important input factor for production and business activities in each industry and sector, thereby improving the overall efficiency and competitiveness of the economy.
The plan sets out four key tasks and solutions, including:
1- Developing ICT digital economy: Developing the information technology industry to become a foundational industry to promote the digital economy. Strong digital technology enterprises are advanced production forces to develop the ICT digital economy and promote the digital economy of industries and fields.
2- Digital data development: Accelerate the availability of high-quality data sets and promote data circulation, sharing, and openness; promote data openness, integration, reuse, data circulation, and improve efficiency through data-based innovation; research and pilot scenarios for data exploitation and use and develop digital applications...
3- Developing digital economy in industries and fields: Digital transformation of all industries and fields, focusing on enterprises, creating new growth drivers based on data, digital technology and innovation, improving governance capacity, managing the operation of economic and social infrastructure systems, managing business operations, creating new business models. Promoting demand for products and services in the digital environment.
Prioritize focusing on a number of key industries and fields where Vietnam has great potential and room for digital economic development, including: Wholesale and retail trade; agriculture; processing and manufacturing industry; tourism; logistics.
Developing the digital economy in the agricultural sector focuses on smart agriculture, precision agriculture, and increasing the proportion of digital technology agriculture in the economy.
Developing digital economy in the processing and manufacturing industry by applying advanced and modern technologies to transform factories into smart factories in line with the green development trend in the world.
Developing the digital economy in the logistics sector in the direction of applying technology to optimize logistics costs throughout the entire process of transporting goods from seaports, border gates, warehouses - yards - ports to consumers and vice versa....
4- Digital governance: Pilot implementation in ministries, branches and localities, then expand virtual assistant platforms to support officials and civil servants in drafting legal documents and performing public duties; support people on legal issues and other virtual assistants; complete the data-based operating model through the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) to disseminate to localities./.
