Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Thai Hoang Vu - Chairman of Bac Tra My District People's Committee said that the number of temporary houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people with revolutionary contributions in need of support in Bac Tra My district approved for the period 2023 - 2025 is 1,130 households. Of which, the number of houses needing new construction is 729, and the number of houses needing repair is 401.
In 2023, the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district provided housing support for 164 poor and near-poor households, of which 129 were newly built and 35 were repaired, with a disbursed budget of 8.7 billion VND.
In 2024, the District People's Committee has allocated a capital plan of more than 10 billion VND to support 243 houses for poor and near-poor households in 12 communes and towns. Up to now, the progress of new construction and house repair in 2024 is estimated at 60% and is expected to disburse 100% of the capital plan by the end of the year.
By the end of 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district will support 241 more households in the district from the proposed capital source to transfer the career budget of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction according to Resolution 111 of the National Assembly. The People's Committee of the district has directed relevant units to make a list of needs of households that are capable of completing by the end of 2024, sign a commitment and synthesize and submit to the People's Committee of the district for approval.
Regarding preparations for the new school year, Mr. Vu said that the total number of schools in the district is 41, including 15 preschools, 11 primary schools, 10 secondary schools, 1 high school and 3 multi-level schools. In addition, there are 112 schools in the district. The total number of students in the district is 11,603. The total number of managers and teachers in the education sector is 1,136. To address the shortage of teachers, a plan to organize an examination for civil servants in the education sector in 2024 is being implemented, with 99 people registering for the examination.
At the meeting, leaders of Bac Tra My District People's Committee and related sectors presented difficulties and made proposals and recommendations related to the implementation of temporary housing elimination; organization of school and classroom networks, lack of teachers and facilities.
Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the proactive and focused efforts to accelerate the progress of the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and preparing for the new school year 2024 - 2025 in the district. At the same time, he requested the Bac Tra My District Party Committee to focus on inspection, field survey, grasp the data and proactively arrange and mobilize resources for implementation; mobilize the participation of the Fatherland Front, organizations and people. Strive to basically complete the work of eliminating temporary houses by 2025, not allowing any households to live in temporary, dilapidated houses for the safety of the people.
Regarding the preparation for the new school year, comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet suggested that Bac Tra My focus on reviewing and thoroughly grasping the preparation situation for the new school year, especially the opening ceremony to create motivation and excitement for teachers and students. In addition, mobilize students not to drop out of school due to family economic reasons; calculate rotation to solve the local shortage of teachers; quickly speed up the work of recruiting teachers...
On this occasion, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet supported the locality with 120 million VND to carry out the work of eliminating temporary houses.
