On May 21, the Forest Ranger Department of Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province handed over a leopard cat to the Center for Propaganda, Tourism and Rescue Conservation - Bu Gia Map National Park for care according to regulations.
This is a female leopard cat, with the scientific name Prionailurus bengalensis, listed as a rare and endangered species in group IIB.

Veterinarian Vi Van Kien (residing in Bu Dang district) said that before, he went to Duc Lieu market (Duc Lieu commune, Bu Dang district) to buy things and discovered an animal caught in a trap (a mouse trap) in the corner of a closed kiosk. When he went to check, Mr. Kien saw that the animal had a very beautiful and strange brocade fur, the spotted pattern looked very wild.
Identifying that this was a leopard cat in very poor health, with dull eyes and unable to move due to a broken leg in the trap, Mr. Kien quickly removed the trap, took the leopard cat to the veterinary clinic for treatment, cast, and care. When the animal recovered, Mr. Kien handed it over to the Bu Dang Forest Protection Department.
After checking the information, Bu Dang Forest Ranger Department handed over the leopard cat to the Center for Propaganda, Tourism and Conservation Rescue - Bu Gia Map National Park for continued care and release back into the natural forest.
