The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Bac Binh District has just informed that in recent days, Binh Tan Commune has suffered damage due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Currently, people have actively overcome the consequences.
Accordingly, at around 1 p.m. on October 23, heavy rain occurred in Binh Tan commune, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. As a result, lightning killed a cow (over 4 years old) belonging to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Binh Nghia village. In addition, heavy rain in the area combined with the amount of water flowing from upstream caused local flooding and localized flooding of about 5 hectares including corn, beans of all kinds, dragon fruit along both sides of Ba Chuon stream, Binh Nghia village, Binh Tan commune, mainly small areas. The estimated damage value is 80 million VND.
As soon as heavy rain and lightning strikes caused damage, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Bac Binh district informed the People's Committees of communes and towns, and informed people about the bad weather and heavy rain to proactively prevent and minimize damage, and conduct actual inspections of the current situation. Up to now, the above areas have no longer been flooded (mainly small, scattered areas and localized flooding in a short period of time).
To proactively respond to natural disasters in the coming days, the People's Committee of Bac Binh district has requested the People's Committees of communes and towns to provide warnings about the types of natural disasters that are likely to continue to occur, especially the high risk of heavy rain and thunderstorms so that people in the community know and have preventive measures.
