Information at the press conference announcing the trial run of the entire Long Son Petrochemical Complex on October 30 said that in November, the Long Son Petrochemical Complex project will officially be put into operation.
LSP (part of SCG Group, Thailand) is an important investment project in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. When the complex is in stable operation, LSP will produce about 1.4 million tons of polyolefin/year. This is the raw material for producing many types of plastic products used in daily life. Increasing production capacity will help reduce the need for imported raw materials and enhance the competitiveness of the domestic plastic industry.
The commissioning phase of the entire LSP complex is scheduled to begin in November 2023. The modern facility is equipped with advanced safety measures and technical equipment, with a special focus on safety, environmental protection and social responsibility. LSP has seamlessly integrated advanced technologies, computerization and digitalization into the complex's operations to minimize the impact on the environment and surrounding communities. This helps ensure clean air and wastewater emissions that meet standards, as well as minimizing unwanted noise and odors.
According to the plan, LSP will be put into commercial operation in January 2024. At that time, the Long Son petrochemical complex will create stable jobs for 1,000 workers and contribute about 2,500 billion VND/year to the state budget. More importantly, when put into operation, the petrochemical complex is expected to create a great influence on the development of the petrochemical industry, downstream industries such as automobiles, electronics, electrical equipment, packaging and other service industries of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the Southern key economic region.
