AstraZeneca transfers pharmaceutical production technology to Vietnam

The Ministry of Science and Technology has just granted a certificate to AstraZeneca to transfer production technology and packaging processes of some advanced pharmaceuticals to Medochemie Company in Vietnam.

Accordingly, AstraZeneca will provide Medochemie Company with personnel, experts, technological lines, machinery and equipment, technical documents and production and testing processes to ensure that AstraZeneca's drugs transferred to Vietnam have the same standards, quality and effectiveness, meeting AstraZeneca's strict global standards.

Leaders of AstraZenca and Medochemie pledge to cooperate closely to promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare in Vietnam.

Mr. Nitin Kapoor, Chairman and General Director of AstraZeneca Vietnam, said that AstraZeneca is committed to supporting Vietnam in improving its medical capacity and developing the domestic pharmaceutical industry, thereby aiming to help patients easily access high-quality domestically produced drugs.

Previously, at the ceremony announcing the investment of 2,000 billion VND (90 million USD) by AstraZeneca Group to help Vietnam improve its domestic pharmaceutical production capacity, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated AstraZeneca's expansion of long-term investment in Vietnam, and affirmed that Vietnam will create the best conditions for AstraZeneca to invest and operate in Vietnam.

It is expected that in the period 2022-2030, there will be 3 important original pharmaceutical products of AstraZeneca with technology transfer for production in Vietnam.
