In the opening match of the men's chess team, Le Quang Liem , Le Tuan Minh, Tran Tuan Minh, and Tran Minh Thang helped the Vietnamese chess team win convincingly 3.5-0.5 against the Korean team with 3 wins by Quang Liem, Tran Tuan Minh, Tran Minh Thang and a draw by Le Tuan Minh.
