20th ASEAN-India Summit Highlighting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2022, a milestone in the history of relations. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed that ASEAN is a pillar of India's Act East policy and a focus of India's Indo-Pacific Initiative.
Over the past four decades, ASEAN-India cooperation has continuously developed on the basis of long-standing historical connections and exchanges and geographical proximity, sharing common values of peace, stability and prosperity, contributing to building a world order based on rules, ensuring benefits for humanity.
Welcoming the results of the implementation of the 2021-2025 Action Plan, the countries said that it is necessary to effectively exploit the potential of the market of 1.5 billion people and accounting for 1/3 of global GDP, further facilitating trade and investment exchanges, strengthening connectivity, self-reliance in the supply chain, and effectively implementing the ASEAN-India Free Trade Area (AIFTA).
ASEAN and India agreed to prioritize sustainable maritime cooperation, blue economy, counter-terrorism, transnational crime, improving healthcare capacity, promoting connectivity, applying science and technology, digital transformation, and expanding cooperation in energy transition and climate change response. The Indian Prime Minister announced the establishment of the ASEAN-India Fund for the Digital Future.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his belief that with the efforts of both sides, the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is full of potential and promise for breakthrough development in the coming time.
To realize that goal, the Prime Minister proposed further strengthening economic and trade connectivity, effectively implementing AIFTA, promoting complementary strengths to boost trade, investment, connectivity, ensuring production and supply chains, and creating more favorable conditions for goods to access each other's markets.

Emphasizing infrastructure and transportation connectivity, the Prime Minister suggested that both sides allocate more appropriate resources to soon complete highway projects connecting India with ASEAN, hoping to expand to Vietnam and spread throughout ASEAN, including by road, sea and air.
At the same time, it is necessary to accelerate connection and cooperation in digital transformation, facilitate the application of innovative achievements, closely linked to people's lives, and open up opportunities for technology businesses on both sides.
In the spirit of “leaving no one behind” , the Prime Minister suggested that India step up the implementation of the ASEAN Integration Initiative and Mekong Sub-region Development, including through Mekong-Ganga cooperation, to further deepen connectivity in implementing sustainable development goals between ASEAN and India, contributing to promoting inclusive growth and equitable development.
The conference adopted joint statements on maritime cooperation and enhancing food security in times of crisis.
At the Conference, countries had in-depth discussions on international and regional issues. such as the East Sea, Myanmar, the Korean Peninsula, the conflict in Ukraine... Countries emphasized the importance of peace, security, and stability in the region as a prerequisite for the current efforts of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
India affirmed its support for ASEAN's efforts, balanced and objective approach and common stance on these issues.

Sharing opinions at the Conferences, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Partners need to show support for ASEAN's central role in practice, work with ASEAN to promote dialogue, consultation, build trust, respond to common challenges, and build an open, transparent, inclusive regional structure based on international law.
The Prime Minister and ASEAN countries reaffirmed their common stance on the East Sea, emphasizing that ensuring security, safety, and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea is in the interests of all countries, and requested that Partners support the full and effective implementation of the DOC Declaration, and the development of an effective, efficient, and substantive Code of Conduct (COC) in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, contributing to making the East Sea a sea of peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development.
