Challenge or opportunity for startups?

Regarding the outlook for 2023, the Report said that Vietnam's economic growth will be under pressure due to the growth of many economies nearing the "brink of recession" when many countries are forced to raise interest rates to curb inflation, the conflict in Ukraine continues along with a series of other arising problems such as supply chain disruptions, and price increases of many raw materials for production.

In the gloomy picture of the economy, the Food and Beverage (FnB) industry seems to be the lone bright spot with an expected growth rate of 18%, reaching VND 720,300 billion.

Although the economy in 2023 is forecast to have many difficulties, in reality, most customers still want to spend more on culinary experiences, with 77% of diners expected to maintain or even increase their spending on cuisine in 2023.

Therefore, starting a FnB business is a safe choice during this difficult economic period and franchising is one of the suitable solutions for small and medium-sized businesses with limited financial resources and no experience in operations and management in this field.
