PTI. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar called on SCO member states to work together to promote regional stability and prosperity based on a policy of strict adherence to the principles of international law, respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and encouragement of economic cooperation.

INDIAN EXPRESS. India and the EU conducted their first joint naval exercise in the Gulf of Guinea off the west coast of Africa in an effort to strengthen maritime security cooperation in support of the region.
DAWN. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has cancelled 349 flights from October 14-26 due to fuel shortage, affecting domestic and international routes.
Xinhua News Agency. The China Manned Space Administration (CMSA) announced that the Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft successfully docked with the Tiangong Space Station on October 26.
YONHAP. The South Korean and US navies conducted a large-scale maritime exercise in the Yellow Sea from October 24 to 27 to enhance the defense posture and interoperability of the two allies.
TEMPO. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (Densus 88) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) arrested 18 suspects linked to terrorist groups between October 2 and 23 in many provinces.
REUTERS. Armenia hopes to sign a peace deal with Azerbaijan in the coming months and establish diplomatic relations with Baku, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a forum in Tbilisi, Georgia.
CNN. The UN Security Council has once again failed to reach a consensus on a resolution regarding the conflict between the Islamic Hamas Movement and Israel.

MOSCOW TIMES. A delegation of the Islamic movement Hamas has arrived in Moscow, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a regular press briefing.

AFP. Lawmakers in Russia's State Duma (lower house) voted to approve the country's spending plan for 2024-2026, which includes a 68% increase in military spending next year.
TASS. The Hungarian parliament rejected a proposal to hold a vote this week on Sweden's accession to NATO, MP Agnes Vadai of Hungary's opposition Democratic Union party said.
REUTERS. Ukraine has suspended the use of its newly established Black Sea corridor for grain exports after Russia withdrew from a Black Sea grain deal, citing security concerns.
GUARDIAN. Ukraine's Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development announced that the country is negotiating with Moldova and Romania on establishing a " green corridor " for grain exports.
VATICAN NEWS. Pope Francis spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the war between Hamas and Israel, stressing the importance of a two-state solution.
BBC. The UK is to set up the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) safety institute , Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced ahead of the world's first AI safety summit taking place in the UK next week.
AFP. A fishing boat carrying 347 migrants and refugees docked on the island of Lampedusa, after being escorted back to port by patrol boats of the Italian coast guard and financial police.
REUTERS. Spain will provide additional emergency accommodation for 3,000 undocumented migrants , as political tensions mount over a surge in arrivals in the Canary Islands since the start of the year.
The German government has expressed confidence in UN Secretary-General António Guterres following his controversial statements on the conflict in the Middle East.

9NEWS. US President Joe Biden and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese agreed to strengthen cooperation in many areas from artificial intelligence, cybersecurity to space and critical minerals.
REUTERS. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today, October 27 in Washington DC.
CNN. The US government is asking Congress to approve a budget allocation of $6 billion for a broadband Internet subsidy program for 21 million US households, which will run out next year.
AP. At least 27 people were killed after Hurricane Otis, a powerful Category 5 storm, made landfall in the coastal area of the southern Mexican state of Guerrero.
RIO NEWS. Brazilian authorities have discovered at least 522 dead seals and sea lions, believed to be from bird flu , along the country's southern coast.

AL JAZEERA. Sudan's foreign ministry said the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) resumed peace talks in the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah.
EGYPT NEWS. The Egyptian Red Crescent Society has received 41 planes carrying 864 tons of medical aid , food and emergency relief supplies from countries and international organizations to support the people of the Gaza Strip.
REUTERS. Nigeria's Supreme Court has upheld President Bola Tinubu's election victory, ending a legal challenge by his two main rivals.
AFRICA NEWS. The African Union (AU) has called for stopping illicit financial flows out of Africa to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development on the continent.

REUTERS. Australian police have arrested seven members of the Song Long (China) crime syndicate , including four Chinese nationals, following 20 search warrants across five states.
SBS. Large areas of Australia are expected to see below-average rainfall and record temperatures over the next three months as El Nino brings hot, dry conditions.
ABC. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has fined Uber 412,500 AUD ($260,000) for breaching anti-spam laws.
