The Prime Minister suggested that Indian businesses can place orders with Vietnamese corporations and groups to produce technology products to serve the Indian market of 1.4 billion people.
On the afternoon of July 31, within the framework of his State visit to India, in the capital New Delhi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received leaders of a number of leading Indian technology and oil and gas enterprises. Vietnam can study and refer to the Industrial Corridor model. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Chairman of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), a unit under the Indian Ministry of Industry and Commerce, introduced to the Prime Minister about industrial corridors and their role in the process of socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization of India. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh said that this is a pioneering initiative of India.

This initiative aims to develop new industrial cities, smart cities, integrating next-generation technology, especially the semiconductor industry, revolutionizing manufacturing and industry to consolidate India's position in the global value chain. Thereby, turning the country into a global manufacturing hub, a manufacturing powerhouse. India aims to develop a digital economy worth 1 trillion USD by 2026. Of which, Dholera in Gujarat state is India's first semiconductor city. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the operating model, scale, vision, and role of NICDC in the economic, social development, modernization, and industrialization of India in recent times. Especially the role of this model in developing strategic infrastructure, creating new development space, new values. Assessing this as a model that Vietnam can study and refer to, the Prime Minister suggested that Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities closely coordinate with the Indian Ministry of Industry and Trade and NICDC, and possibly establish a working group to cooperate, research and exchange experiences in the coming time. Receiving Mr. Shikhar Malhotra, Director of HCL Corporation, the Prime Minister emphasized that digital transformation based on information technology infrastructure is an inevitable trend of the times. According to the Prime Minister, Indian enterprises can order Vietnamese corporations and groups to produce technology products to serve the Indian market of 1.4 billion people. In particular, the cost of technology transfer needs to be cheaper to create better competitiveness, helping both sides benefit. The Director of HCL Corporation affirmed that Vietnam is one of the strategic priorities in investments and the group is ready to transfer advanced technologies. Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group Tao Duc Thang proposed 3 areas of cooperation with Indian enterprises. These are research and development of applications for telecommunications infrastructure equipment such as 5G; research and design of semiconductor chips for both civilian and military use; and research and development of software. Mr. Thang suggested that HCL Corporation should consider reasonable costs in cooperation to be able to bring technology products to the world. Opening up new horizons for cooperation Also this afternoon, the Prime Minister received Mr. Arun Kuma Singh, Chairman of the National Oil and Gas Group (ONGC). Referring to the issue of resource depletion and population aging, the head of the Vietnamese Government said that these are two major problems of the world today and also challenges that Vietnam must face if there are no solutions. The Prime Minister suggested that the National Oil and Gas Group (ONGC) sign a long-term and continuous research agreement with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.Prime Minister received Chairman of ONGC - Mr. Arun Kuma Singh.
Emphasizing that energy cooperation is one of the important pillars of the two countries, the Prime Minister welcomed Indian enterprises to Vietnam to research, explore, exploit and process various types of energy to open up new horizons for cooperation.
