Right in the first episode of Vietnam Idol 2023 - Vietnam Idol Contest, the performance of the 9X contestant from Ninh Binh - Duong Thanh Dat attracted the attention of a large audience. The guy from Ninh Binh also "caused a fever" on social networks because of his "male god"-like beauty.
Duong Thanh Dat (from Gia Sinh, Gia Vien), a former student of Gia Vien A High School, graduated from K38 of the People's Police Academy, but his passion for singing led him to the famous music competition: Vietnam Idol 2023.
Right in the first episode, when introducing himself, Duong Thanh Dat "shocked" the judges when he revealed that he used to be a People's Police officer and that his family had a tradition of working in the People's Police force. After graduating from the People's Police Academy, Dat himself worked at the Nam Dinh Provincial Police for 2 years, but his passion for singing urged him to make a bold decision: to leave the army to switch to artistic activities.
Choosing Ho Chi Minh City as his place to start a career, after nearly 3 years of pursuing art, Duong Thanh Dat (stage name Dat Lohan) has made his mark as a member of the music group For7, participating in acting in movies, TVCs, etc. In particular, with a bright appearance, a face that is considered as beautiful as a Korean "male god", Duong Thanh Dat received many invitations to be a model for fashion brands. Duong Thanh Dat once acted in the MV "Right also becomes wrong" by singer My Tam.
Surpassing nearly 5,000 contestants participating in Vietnam Idol 2023 in the preliminary round to become the 60 best contestants entering the selection round. Duong Thanh Dat's performance in episode 1 with the song "Thuong em la dich anh khong can mong" impressed the judges with his emotional voice and won the golden ticket to the next round. This performance also attracted millions of views, becoming a trending keyword on the social networking platform Tiktok.
Entering the "Theater" round, the contestants had to compete head-to-head. In this round, Duong Thanh Dat performed the song "Who loves you like me" and won a waiting ticket and was chosen as one of the 15 excellent contestants to attend "Idol Music Night".
