Viet Hoan, U60, happy after divorcing wife 18 years younger, denies being a real estate tycoon

Viet Hoan reunites with Dang Duong and Trong Tan in the music night "A Country Full of Joy".

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, we couldn't help but do a show together.

- Why did we have to wait 7 years for the trio Dang Duong - Trong Tan - Viet Hoan to reunite in the 3rd live concert called "The Country Full of Joy" on the evening of May 24 in Hanoi ?

The three brothers did not intend to organize the concert to make money and also knew that the audience loved it very much, so each time we held a concert, we considered it carefully. The concert had to be suitable for current events or historical nature and we also wanted the audience to look forward to our reunion.

The three brothers all have their own jobs. Dang Duong, Trong Tan and I all have many shows, but on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, we couldn't help but do a show together, so we decided to combine to show our gratitude to the country and the audience.

- Dang Duong - Trong Tan - Viet Hoan have all performed on many big stages, but how do you feel every time you sing together?

It's really great that we still gather to share with each other every month, still meet on stages. But those are "must do" music nights, but this time we "get to do". Music nights like " The Country is Full of Joy " are like the effort and passion of 3 brothers who want to contribute to the public.

- On stage, the trio performs in great harmony, but in reality, how well do you understand and get along with each other? There is a certain age gap between the three of you, how do you reconcile that difference when singing, especially when you get older every day?

We know how to listen and are blessed with voices that blend together very well. Although our tones are different, when all three of us sing together, we are very compatible. Especially since we are all well-trained, our nuances and understanding of each other are very good.

For those who sing classical music, vocal training does not affect the quality of the voice much. In addition, we are only 7-8 years apart in age, which is the same age group, and classical music is usually for this age group, so Dang Duong and Trong Tan often have to age to be on par with me.

- At this time, artists who sing revolutionary mainstream music like you are all busy, so how do you find time to take care of the 10,000m2 garden?

I am a person who knows how to enjoy life and will know how to accept shows to have time to take care of myself, especially at my age (Viet Hoan was born in 1967 - PV) I have to know how to love myself because I no longer have to struggle too much for material things. I am a person who loves a free life, loves nature. Therefore, if I know how to balance work and enjoying life, I will definitely be happy.

After the divorce, we both took care of the children.

- When did you realize it was time to take care of your health?

Actually, my health is fine, but since I turned 50, I have realized the spiritual value. That is when I want to sing, not because I have to sing like before because I have to earn money to build a house or support my wife and children. Now I realize that I do not need to be too burdened with living for someone and instilling gratitude in people's heads. So I consider whether all the work I do is worthy or not.

- At this point, do you still care about salary?

Since I started singing professionally, I don't care about salary as much as what stage I perform on, who I perform for, and what I sing.

- How is your life now after the divorce?

After the divorce, we both took care of the children. My two older daughters studied at the National Academy of Music and are now living in an apartment in Hanoi for convenience in going to school. My youngest daughter, 11 years old, is currently living with me and she comes back to her mother on weekends. I feel like my life is very happy.

- Does a nearly 60-year-old father have any difficulty taking care of his 11-year-old daughter?

I am very happy because all 3 children are very smart, know right from wrong and know how to behave in the most joyful way when facing difficulties in life. All 3 children are filial and love their father, that makes me extremely happy.

The children said that dad should do whatever makes him happy.

- How did they react when their parents divorced?

We broke up peacefully. Furthermore, we never fought in front of the children. They thought it was normal for their parents to break up because they were always there for them. They went to an international school since they were young, so they always put personal respect first. They told their father to do whatever made him happy. The same goes for their mother.

Viet Hoan does not plan his future, leaving everything to chance.

- You said you are happy and enjoying your current life, but will you keep this state forever or will you still find a new place to stay?

I let things happen because life is wonderful right now. I rarely think about the past, so I always live fully in the present and think about what tomorrow will prepare for the future.

I am a nature lover and active with work, friends and sports so I am always busy. And when I am busy, there is no time to be sad.

- Do you have plans for your future and your children?

I never force my children to learn this or that profession. Both of my older children are studying traditional music according to their own interests and wishes. Then they will grow up, have families and move to another city or country to live, for example. As for me, I don’t have any clear plans for myself because I just live fully today.

I think it would be great if there was a nursing home for old artists. If I could build such a place, I would be able to enjoy living there myself in the future.

If there is any land, I will be its slave.

- Are you planning to build a nursing home on your property?

I have some friends who have real estate and want to give it away. My garden is a family property so it cannot be used for private purposes.

- Many people say Viet Hoan is now a real estate tycoon because he owns a huge garden house?

I have never traded land. Any piece of land I own is my slave. There I do not know sadness.
