According to Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment - Head of the contest jury Nguyen Trung Thang, in recent years, circular economy has been implemented in many different fields, bringing economic, social and environmental benefits and associated with sustainable development in many countries around the world. Developing a circular economy also aims to motivate innovation and improve labor productivity, towards a green economy and sustainable development.
In Vietnam, developing a circular economy has become an urgent need and an inevitable trend in the process of social development. The year 2022 marks an important milestone for the launch of the circular economy, with the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 officially taking effect and the Vietnam Circular Economy Development Project officially approved. However, to truly bring the economy into the circular transformation process, many factors need to be prepared.
In order for the circular economy to develop more strongly and have a direction in the future, in addition to researching and creating advanced technologies and techniques; and perfecting the legal policy institutions that have not yet met standards, raising and enhancing awareness of the circular economy is extremely important. In that context, the Environment Magazine of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with C Asean to organize the Circular Economy Photo Contest 2023.
