70 designers from 3 regions perform Ao Dai to celebrate 70 years of Liberation of the Capital

VTV.vn - Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam and 70 designers from the North, Central and South will present Ao Dai collections to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi.

The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival is one of a series of practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This is an annual activity of the Department of Tourism to develop and promote Hanoi tourism in conjunction with promoting Vietnam tourism, while honoring and preserving the unique cultural beauty of the traditional ao dai of the Vietnamese people. The opening ceremony of the 2024 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival will take place on October 4 at the Doan Mon Square stage - Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center. The highlight of the opening ceremony is the art program "Quintessence of Ao Dai" consisting of 3 chapters: Golden History, Interchange Bridge and Spreading Journey . The art program combines tradition and modernity, with the atmosphere, emotions of discovery and experience, especially recreating the historical journey of 70 years of the Liberation of the Capital with the image of the Vietnamese Ao Dai as the main center. At the opening ceremony, designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam will perform the opening performance of the Ao Dai collection called "Luong Duyen" including 75 Ao Dai designs elaborately designed with a strong Eastern fashion imprint, recreating the historical journey of the meaningful land of Thang Long. Of which, 25 designs of the five-panel Ao Dai for men are modernized with dragon, phoenix, and lotus motifs bearing the mark of the Vietnamese people.

According to designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam: “This festival is held to celebrate an important historical milestone. Therefore, I hope it will not only spread within Hanoi but also reach out to many locations domestically and internationally. I think we cannot only introduce the Hanoi Ao Dai collection, stopping at the perspective of Hanoi people, but also want people from all three regions of the North, Central and South to share this joy. That is also a way to contribute to promoting the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival and congratulate the Capital on this special occasion.”

In addition, on October 5, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the program "Ao Dai Night" will take place, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism; Hanoi Women's Union in collaboration with the Vietnam Ao Dai Club, SVF HOLDING, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam will launch a collection of five-panel ao dai for children at the 2024 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival.

Ao dai costumes from many famous designers will also attend the gala.

"Ao Dai Night" is a combination of musical and dance and sound technology, 3D screen lighting and visual effects. In particular, the presence of Ao Dai performances by international Ambassadors' Wives along with hundreds of beauty queens, models, etc. will create a mark of integration and cultural exchange, contributing to the preservation and development of Ao Dai culture. Within the framework of the "Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024", there will be a mini-size Ao Dai design workshop with the theme "Proud of Vietnamese Ao Dai" taking place from October 4 to 6. The activity is meant to protect the environment by reusing leftover fabric from the tailoring process, creating souvenirs imbued with Vietnamese culture for tourists. Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam and designers from 3 regions will guide tourists to sew mini-size Ao Dai by hand as meaningful tourist gifts. Through that, the activity helps provide vocational training and create jobs for women and children in difficult circumstances and with disabilities.
