(CPV) - On the afternoon of November 7, the draw ceremony for the 2024 National Women's Football Cup took place at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Established in 2019, the National Women's Football Cup has increasingly affirmed its important role in the women's football system in particular and national professional tournaments in general. In recent seasons, the National Cup has been improved in terms of expertise as teams focus on investing in quality. This is a playground for female players to increase their chances of competing, and experts also have more conditions to monitor and discover new talents.
This year's tournament has the participation of 7 clubs, including the reigning champion of Vietnam Coal and Minerals, the reigning runner-up Hanoi I, Hanoi II, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Son La, Thai Nguyen T&T and Ho Chi Minh City.

The teams are divided into two groups (group of 4 teams and group of 3 teams) and compete in a round-robin tournament at the host unit to calculate points and rank. The four teams ranked first and second in the two groups will compete to determine the champion, second, third and fourth place teams. The remaining three teams will compete in a round-robin tournament to compete for 5th, 6th and 7th place.
According to the draw results, Group A includes: Hanoi I Club, Phong Phu Ha Nam , Ho Chi Minh City and Son La. Group B includes Vietnam Coal - Minerals, Hanoi II and Thai Nguyen T&T.
The most promising candidate for the championship of the 2024 National Women's Football Cup continues to be Ho Chi Minh City, led by coach Doan Thi Kim Chi. This team has won 3/5 times the tournament has been held. However, it is likely that Huynh Nhu will not compete in this tournament. This somewhat affects the strength of Ho Chi Minh City. This is also an opportunity for Thai Nguyen T&T or Hanoi to seek the first title after many years of empty hands.
The 2024 National Women's Cup will take place from November 28 to December 13 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and Thanh Tri Stadium.
Regarding the prizes, the winning team will receive a Cup, Gold Medal and a bonus of 200 million VND; the second team will receive a Silver Medal and a bonus of 150 million VND; the third team will receive a Bronze Medal and a bonus of 100 million VND.
The Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes including: style award; best player of the tournament; player scoring the most goals of the tournament; best goalkeeper of the tournament; referee team completing their tasks excellently./.
